Thieves lurking...beware!
Most crime against tourists/travelers are not hard core (murder, muggings) but rather theft of property or identity. Watch out for thieves on motorcycles who look for easy pray to snatch your belongings. Wear your belongings (camera, purse, pack) diagonally across your chest and make sure any straps are at least 1 inch thick. Don't become an easy victim.
